To have a custom song, please select CUSTOM Melody as Melody variant. It will take around 6 weeks to manufacture.

A custom metal drum will be manufactured for you.

Please send us a name and a link to a song on Youtube together with the time interval you are interested in.
For example:

"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjhCEhWiKXk,

IMPORTANT: make sure the length of the fragment is 14 – 24 seconds (music box limitation).

Due to music box limitations, not all songs can be converted into a nice sounding music box melody. Rap/hip hop, jazz and songs with a lot of repeating notes would not work out well.

Usually, the best part would be a chorus. Please send the song original and not a piano/music box version.

⚠️ If your song cannot be converted into 18-Note music box melody, we can try a different song or opt for a refund.

⚠️ If we have already converted your song into 18-Note melody, there will be a $30 non-refundable Conversion fee.

⚠️ About melody revisions - Please note that we can't guarantee your requested changes are doable due to physical limitations of the music box.

⚠️ Due to the natural difference between the audio demo (digital) and the actual music box (mechanical), there might be a slight difference on how they sound.

🛑 The order will not move forward until we get your approval for the melody. Your timely responses will definitely help us process your order in a timely manner too. Please add our email to your address book and check your Spam and Promotion tabs if you are not getting emails!

❗❗ Custom melody orders that are in the "Manufacturing Mechanism" stage and onwards can no longer be changed or canceled. Returns / exchanges are not accepted for customized orders but please contact us for order issues.

You may select "Text-Only" option, if you prefer the engraving to be text only. Font choices available.

For designs more complicated than text, select "Custom Design Process". We'll make an engravable design based on your instructions.

🚛 We usually ship from California, U.S. If you are located outside U.S., please be aware that you might need to pay an Import tax to Customs. Unfortunately, we can not falsify the Customs form as that would be considered a crime.

❗️If you are outside U.S. it is very important that you provide a correct phone number so that Customs may contact you if there is a need. Also, if you are GIFTING this to someone else, please warn them the parcel is coming their way that might need to be paid for.

Every Donuma music box is made after you order it, so most of the wait is us making it rather than the parcel travelling. Here is what the last 15 months of real orders actually took.

Day counts are for delivery inside the United States and assume we have everything we need from you. If we have a question about your song or engraving, the clock pauses until you reply.

In a hurry? The Rush Production add-on moves your box to the front of the queue and takes about six days off a custom melody build. It is worth adding when you have a fixed date; it does not speed up the mail, only the making.

A Predefined Melody is a tune we have already arranged and keep in our library. A Custom Melody is a song we arrange and cut specially for your order, even if you have seen us make it for someone else before, which is why it takes longer and is priced differently. Ranges run from the typical order to the slowest nine in ten, and already include the time in the mail. Adding Rush Production shortens the making, so it pulls the whole range in by about six days. International orders also pass through customs in the destination country, which we cannot see or speed up.

What makes an order take longer

A custom song we need to arrange from scratch. Engraving on several sides, or a photo that needs retouching. Any change you make after the order is placed. Waiting on your reply to a question. Customs clearance outside the United States. And the weeks before Christmas and Mother's Day, when the workshop is busiest.

Once it ships

You get a tracking link by email the moment the label is printed. Shipping timeframe varies depending on the shipping method selected and your location. Inside the United States the box arrives at least four days later; international parcels typically take at least a week or two after they leave us.
