Delivery Times
Every Donuma music box is made after you order it, so most of the wait is us making it rather than the parcel travelling. Here is what the last 15 months of real orders actually took.
How long it takes
A melody from our library
about 13 days
from the day you order
Nine orders in ten arrive within 22 days.
Your song is already in the workshop, so the box goes straight to engraving.
Your song is already in the workshop, so the box goes straight to engraving.
Your own song, arranged for you
about 23 days
from the day you order
Nine orders in ten arrive within 36 days.
We arrange the melody, cut the mechanism and test it before it ships.
We arrange the melody, cut the mechanism and test it before it ships.
Day counts are for delivery inside the United States and assume we have everything we need from you. If we have a question about your song or engraving, the clock pauses until you reply.
In a hurry? The Rush Production add-on moves your box to the front of the queue and takes about six days off a custom melody build. It is worth adding when you have a fixed date; it does not speed up the mail, only the making.
Full picture
| What you ordered | United States | Rest of world |
|---|---|---|
| Melody from our library (Predefined Melody) | 13–22 days | 19–34 days |
| Your own song (Custom Melody) | 23–36 days | 28–45 days |
A Predefined Melody is a tune we have already arranged and keep in our library. A Custom Melody is a song we arrange and cut specially for your order, even if you have seen us make it for someone else before, which is why it takes longer and is priced differently. Ranges run from the typical order to the slowest nine in ten, and already include the time in the mail. Adding Rush Production shortens the making, so it pulls the whole range in by about six days. International orders also pass through customs in the destination country, which we cannot see or speed up.
What makes an order take longer
A custom song we need to arrange from scratch. Engraving on several sides, or a photo that needs retouching. Any change you make after the order is placed. Waiting on your reply to a question. Customs clearance outside the United States. And the weeks before Christmas and Mother's Day, when the workshop is busiest.
Once it ships
You get a tracking link by email the moment the label is printed. Shipping timeframe varies depending on the shipping method selected and your location. Inside the United States the box arrives at least four days later; international parcels typically take at least a week or two after they leave us.
Based on 673 music box orders from the past 15 months — 649 shipped, 413 with a confirmed delivery date. Figures last checked October 5, 2026, and refreshed every week. Any dates shown above are counted from the day you open this page.

I like to sit with a product for a bit before leaving a review and I want to commend Donuma & team on an incredible job of producing a well-crafted music box that exceeded my expectations. Between Cedrick's communication, the streamlined ordering process, to the packaging and finished product. Just WOW. I didn't realize I purchased something more than a gift until my daughter was holding and pining to hear the music play again. Thank you for that.

Store owner replied: It's not the music box that made that moment special, it's that moment with your daughter made the music box special. Thank you for your review and kind words, Alexis ♥
Everything about this transaction was lovely. Correspondence was friendly and kind. Each step was made clear. The wood is lovely, and the craftsmanship is good. Their musician took our original song and made it into a music box. I will treasure it.

Store owner replied: We're glad the music box turned out exactly as you wanted. Thank you, David!
The box is perfect! My custom melody was made perfectly; it was extremely faithful to the original tune, and it sounded so beautiful. The engraving was amazing, even with the non-English portions, and it looks absolutely fantastic. The wood is gorgeous, and it gives off a faint woodsy smell which I like. The mirror is very clear, and the spot for the ring fits the ring I put in very well. Overall, 100/10—I cannot recommend this enough! It was a big purchase but definitely very well worth it ^-^

AMAZING! I was looking for a unique and personal gift for my wife for our first anniversary. I discovered this customizable music box which was perfect. However, when I discovered it, I only had three weeks until our 1 year anniversary (typical dude mistake). I paid to have the music box rush ordered, and boy was I not disappointed. It arrived close to our anniversary and my wife was so impressed! I opted for the music box that would allow my wife to store both her engagement and wedding rings. I was also able to design the box to my liking. The graphic is simple and displays the name of our wedding song (“You and I” by Rebelution). I was also able to add a short message on the bottom so every time my wife winds the box she sees it :) The melody is also perfect! It sounds just like our wedding song. Overall, a great buying experience! Great customer service and a great hand crafted product my wife will have forever. Maybe even pass down to our kids!

The team at Donuma was great to work with through the whole process! Initially I did not think my song choice would be able to be made into a music box melody, but they made it work and it sounds great! I was 100% sure what I wanted engraved on the top, but they were amazing at coming up with ideas and taking my suggestions to create the perfect design. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Matched description, good quality, on time shipping, excellent communication. Best option you will find!
Very nice wood, the picture on the inside was great. The pitch is great, but the gears are a little creaky.
Came with secure and beautiful packaging and it sounds amazing!
Very helpful and it was just what I was trying to have made. I highly recommend a very well made.
Item is well made and beautiful. I had an issue initially with my order, but credit to Donuma, they responded and acted swiftly to make it right. Thank you, I’m sure my wife will love this for our anniversary.
Very pleased with the product. Would recommend. Communication with seller regarding product details was also excellent.
Super
Love this gift! We created a custom song and it sounds perfect and the whole box feels vary high quality.
Beyond expectations, the costumer service and the product are both outstanding. An amazing gift for your loved ones.
The actual box and melody are very nice. I have no complaints and am happy. Based on price I would not buy additional ones for my children with the custom tune, but am happy I bought this. The courier that is used by the company were pathetic. It floated around LA for over a week before it even got out on a plane. This is not Donumas fault, but needs to be considered as my gift did not arrive in time because of the delay by the courier.
A great experience. Accommodated my requirements easily and the end product looks great.
We ordered the Ava music box from Donuma that played the melody of our wedding waltz (custom melody). We received excellent advice throughout the entire design process and while it took a number of iterations to bring to song to life, the Donuma team was more than happy to work with us and execute the changes. Now we hold our music box, which also served as our ring box at our wedding, in our hands. With several loops and fully wound, the ring box can play for approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds. At the wedding, it played during the exchange of rings, gently underscoring the moment of our vows. It means everything to us and carries our memories with a very special, timeless charm. Thank you from Germany to the Donuma team!
The process was easy. Chosing a custom song is simplified with their editing tool, insuring you can loop the part of the song you want. They send you an audio file of what it will sound like, for you to okay before they move on with the process. Insuring perfection to your specifications. I highly recommend Donuma.
My custom song sounds great, there was good communication from Donuma! Very easy to work with, and made sure I was happy with my custom song before production. I am very glad I ordered.
Product is nice and good quality. However, I had to pay $61 CAD extra upon delivery (Shipped to Canada). I see it is very briefly noted at the bottom of the Q&A. I am honestly disappointed that it was not made clear on the site when purchasing. It makes it seem like they wont tell you until you are stuck with it. So all please be aware. Also, if you are shipping directly to the gift recipient, they would need to pay to receive the gift.
The product was beautiful AND beautifully packaged. Couldn’t ask for anything better. The customer service was also top notch!!!! Highly recommend.
It is beautiful and perfect. Exactly what I envisioned. Thank you
